A LETTER TO PARENTS
Most scientists believe that animals and mankind are newcomers in the evolution of the universe. Evolution is the theory that finds most acceptance amongst atheists because the study of the stars and the study of biological life favoures their belief that the cause of the universe is a Big Bang not a Creator, and the origin of the species, both animals and man, is the result of natural selection. Put simply natural selection is the law that the fittest will survive over the course of millions of years.
Even the terms of reference used to explain this show that their premise, the question they beg from the start, is there is no God and if no God no creation. All then, is a mysterious accident of atoms and their properties, that have no mind, no Creator and no meaning or purpose.
Not only atheists but many Christians also acknowledge that the Genesis account of creation is a myth, meaning that it is too absurd to believe. Many Christians therefore lose their faith in God, a Being who created the earth and the universe. What follows from this acceptance of the atomic theory of the universe is they also lose their faith in Jesus Christ. Since there is no God who created the world, their is no Son of God either.
MASS ATHEISM
The 19th, 20th and 21st century began en mass to see itself as a backward, naive and superstitious. We are now in the three hundredth year of mass atheism. This is reflected in our laws, our schools, our homes and our beliefs. Even bishops of the church, like Bishop Robinson, have divorced themselves from Christianity, and the authenticity of the bible and have replaced their faith with science fiction. SCIENCE FICTION
The present belief in evolution is indeed science fiction. What we are witnessing today in the academic world is a breakdown of belief in the Big Bang theory. Recent discoveries have contradicted both the model of an expanding universe or a contracting one. On the very edge or horizon of the universe, observed through the Hubble telescope, a celestial body has been found that is brighter than any star that is said to be close to the Big Bang. Yet it is older and brighter so how did it get there? There are many other problems like this one. For instance the discovery that stars, like our sun, have planets that should not be in orbit around their suns because there would not be enough gravity to keep them in a continuous distance from them. Since they do have orbits and do not break away from their stars it seems there is a missing link in explaining their existence. That link is now believed to be black holes or as is supposed black matter that has the force of gravity like the stars. If this is correct then 90% of the known universe is now believed to be black holes. There is an ever increasing complexity in describing and explaining stars and their galaxies of which their are millions. But that is the tip of the iceberg for many other problems have arisen in explaining how light travels and how distances are calculated of which I will name a few later in this article.
GOD’S SCIENCE
We can only learn about the universe and our world from the One who created it for only he was there to witness it. No more can we learn about our time spent in our mother’s womb where we became a living being. It is simply a fact and however much we learn from our mother it will be at best a story of how our life on earth began. We accept the fact of it and have no need to explain it. The writer of Psalm 139 said, ‘For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed. How weighty to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!’ (Psalm 139:13-17) Who else but a loving and wonderful God could create the life of a baby in a mother’s womb? And that is just one tiny part of God’s Creation.
THE SCIENCE OF LIFE
The science of life began with the blueprint of the universe and all living things at the very beginning when God created it. But if you can grasp it, he did not put time and death in it. That is another story. When he created the world it was made to last forever. It was created outside of time. The earth and the whole universe was made to last forever. No death, no ends, no suffering. The universe was a Paradise not lost. That is how God began to make the world. Science fiction looks for a beginning to the world in time as if time was really in the universe but as we shall see there is no time in space. The universe did not begin in time. The whole universe began outside of time when there was no change or death. That is how God has explained to us the origin of his creation. It was good and it was made to last forever.
THE PROPAGATION OF SCIENCE FICTION
Science fiction is taking over the minds of children. It is doing this through TV, the computer and games but most insidiously it is doing it through schools, through school curriculums and, of course teachers who are expected to teach what is required of them. Christian schools too, are absorbing science fiction and in many the Scriptures are interpreted through science philosophy and not from the bible. Many years ago I was astonished when my daughter who had reached the age of eleven told me that the resurrection of Jesus was a vision the disciples had. The school did not accept the Scriptures as their evidence for Christian faith. If you are a parent reading this please check out the beliefs of the school you will be sending your child to. If you send your child to a state school your child will be taught science fiction, the Big Bang theory and evolution as their staple science knowledge. Hence the conflict between school and home is on in earnest by the creators of the amoral, Praetorian secular society. They will also teach your child that sodomy, or euphemistically ‘gay’ life styles are acceptable and normal.
You, as parents, are rearing a child, boy or girl, who, if you are a Christian, is going to be taken from you, and who when they grow old enough will most likely reject your faith. This is why it is imperative to teach a child in the way that he should go so that when he is older he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
We are not living in Christian times or societies that follow Christian values. Many parents have chosen to get out of society altogether, join communities like the Bruderhofs, or family schools to protect their child. I met parents with four young children who had taken them out of school in New Zealand, and who had chosen to tour the world for four years with their children to give them an education themselves. Whatever parents do there is obviously a choice to be made, either go along with the stream of society which is really the broad way of science fiction and amorality or provide an education for your child yourself.
My mother sent us boys to a state school in England at a time when science fiction was being introduced into science classes as a theory that, at that time had not overtaken Christian roots and biblical knowledge. But she was a woman who watched carefully what I was being taught and was not afraid to confront a teacher if she thought he or she was saying what was objectionable. My mother was really a fearless person. I remember one day when the radio was on. It was often on in those war days to hear the news. A man called Bertrand Russell said, ‘There is no God.’ My mother stood in the middle of the room and shouted out ‘He is a bad man.’ Her fury was such that I will never forget that moment of truth.
TIME
Everything did have a beginning but not in time as we estimate it. It began with God’s Word, Wisdom and Love, for as anyone with a little intelligence can see, the universe has these features written upon it. God created a solar clock with the purpose of separating night from day, months from years and one age from another. God did this for human beings who have minds and souls and for whom time is necessary even in their everlasting existence. Time was a utility and an idea inferred from the Solar System.
Time is a calculation of the speed and motion of the earth in its journey around the sun and its rotation in space. Time remains constant in our solar system. For example, the solar system is like a bicycle wheel. The hub of the wheel is a fixed point around which the spokes and tire turn, except that the speed of the bicycle wheel is determined by the force of the bicycle rider and can alter accordingly. This is a simple illustration and not a very accurate one, if time at any given moment is to be measured from it.
At first when it was deemed necessary to make a model of time, a sun dial was used. This gave an approximate measurement of day and night but later more modern and precise models or replicas of time were invented, clocks, mechanical and digital.
Time can only be inferred from speed and motion of the earth’s rotation in space and its cyclical journey around the sun. So time is a calculation to separate day and night into minutes and hours, to separate one day from another, one season from another and one age from another, just as it is stated in Genesis chapter one.
Time is an idea in the mind of God and an idea in human minds that is an abstraction from the speed, motion and gravity of two bodies, the earth and the earth’s star, the sun. But there can be no doubt that time is an abstraction from bodies like the sun and earth. Time does not really exist in bodies. It is a creation, like the time in music or the time in mathematics. These are all creations of mind. Time only exists in a presence of mind.
SPACE TIME IS AN ILLUSION
Space time is an illusion. There is no time in space. Time can only be measured in a solar system like ours. The notion that the speed of light, which is known, can be used to estimate the age of a star by a trajectory of earths time is also an illusion. It is impossible to use the speed of light as a ruler of a stars age when the galaxies are either expanding or collapsing according to some theories. That is only one problem. Suppose we compare speed with age in Roger Bannister's four minute mile. Is there a correspondence between Roger Banisters age and the four minutes it took to run the mile? Not at all for that four minutes does not represent his age only his speed. We might judge that the four minutes, if added to his age, would make him four minutes older. However, it may well make him four minutes younger since his exertion may have a beneficial effect on his health and life. Speed does not equal age. The speed of light in seconds multiplied by distance does not measure the age of a star. The properties, density and stage of its life will, but that is another question. The problem with a speed of light measurement is that it is unrelated to the aging of the star. By age we must mean more than time and speed. God introduces time into our solar system to make day and night, months and years, according to Day 4 of Genesis. However, Day 4 follows the pattern of Day 1, which is a day in God's timeless eternity, not in earths solar system. This time, as St. Peter said, might be a thousand years, for a day in God's timing is not like ours. But we simply do not know what a Day in Paradise represented by comparison with earth's time. A day in God's time might be a few minutes or a million years. We simply do not know what the six days of creation represented in God's time.
TIME AND DEATH
When mankind lost its Paradise of everlasting life, man became mortal. He aged, so to speak and died. The universe also aged for the universe is also subject to aging as Paul says, ‘For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope.’ (Romans 8:19-20) The universe lost its timeless properties, its everlasting, existence. What we see in the heavens is the dying and death of the stars and their age is reduced from everlasting to a time span given to them by the Creator, just as humankind was given a time span before it died. So what scientists claim to be the age of the universe is false. The universe we see is not the beginning of time but the end of time, the end of everlasting Paradise. What scientists believe they are trying to establish is a Big Bang start to the universe when, in fact, according to God’s word the universe died, and its time and age is receding, just like mans. It follows from this that no time exists without a mind and no scientist exists without one either. Absolutely nothing exists without a Mind to create it.
I hope, dear parent, that these truths will inspire and help you to cope with the new generation of children who are being indoctrinated with science fiction.
